As a SAPERE Gold award school, Alverstoke C of E Junior School is pleased to be hosting this Level 1 in support of the growing number of Gosport schools developing P4C. Aimed particularly at those teachers without SAPERE P4C training, joining Gosport and surrounding schools who have already had whole school Level 1 training and continue to develop the P4C approach.
Gosport can be reached by car from the M27 (Fareham exit), via train from Portsmouth Harbour station, it is a short 5 minute passenger ferry journey across to Gosport. The school is within a half hour walking distance or 5 minute taxi journey from Gosport ferry terminal.
Completion of the course and facilitating 6 P4C sessions will qualify you for a P4C Initial Practitioner certificate.

Alison Allsopp - Trainer Profile
Alison is a registered SAPERE* trainer providing school Inset, Level 1 & 2 training and support to teachers using the Philosophy for Children approach. Her background is as a Primary Teacher. Her work is based around her regular experience of P4C practice in the classroom and many years of leading whole school P4C at Alverstoke C of E Junior school, Gosport, Hampshire, now a SAPERE P4C Gold Award School. She also works alongside teachers, planning P4C sessions and providing mentoring support in other SAPERE Going for Gold schools in London and across the south. Additionally, in her role as National Training Manager for SAPERE*, she advises schools and coordinates whole school training, reviews the SAPERE school award and oversees the mentoring programme for new trainers.
