Biography Tim is an experienced educationist based in the North West of England. He was a Primary School teacher for 7 years and an inner-city Headteacher for 7 years before becoming an independent trainer, tutor and consultant. He now travels throughout the UK and Europe specialising in Philosophy for Children and Thinking Skills.
He has degrees in Theology (BA) from Manchester University, Educational Management (MA) from the Open University, and Spiritual Leadership (PhD) from Liverpool University and he works part-time as a CPD Consultant in Professional Learning in the Graduate school at Liverpool Hope University. However, he is most at home as an itinerant philosopher-in-residence working with teachers and children. He has been associated with SAPERE since its founding and also works as an Associate of DialogueWorks. Tim’s delight in children’s learning is never far from his own thinking and he relishes conversations that matter and which give hope to the world.
In his spare time when not fantasising about doing Philosophy on a Greek island or even the agora in Athens, Tim works as a Resilience Trainer for headteachers and leaders of the helping professions at www.headcoaching.co.uk and has a private practice as a Church School Education consultant at www.lignumvitae.co.uk. He is also a director of AI Consulting Ltd at www.ai-consulting.co.uk which brings the power of Appreciative Inquiry to evaluation and organisation development in the Public, Voluntary, Academic and Business sectors.
